Our story
Like many nonprofits, Make the Road Nevada (MRNV) entered 2025 facing a tougher grant
environment and looking to expand their revenue streams. And like many nonprofits who
provide services to their local communities, their supporter base wasn’t naturally providing t
hem a consistent pool of low to mid dollar givers. They had tried digital
fundraising before without success, but their mission was urgent and highly relevant to the
news cycle. So they thought there might be an opportunity to try again. When we talked
they wanted to strengthen their digital fundraising, but didn’t have massive amounts of
capital to invest in growing a program. They needed to build a list and program entirely
from scratch. We wanted to help, and guaranteed them a minimum of 130%
immediate return on whatever they spent.

How We Did It
Text rental acquisition drove the lions’ share of the growth in the program (95%).
Focus on the tangible things that the nonprofit was delivering to their community,
then communicate it to a national donor audience. Combine this with a high volume
of testing and doing resends with the best copy when the time is right.
